Slides, swings, rings: there’s nothing wrong with playground classics. (In fact, you’ll find a lot of those around Great Park Neighborhoods.) But we think playgrounds could be a little more, well, playful. We’re talking laugh-’til-it-hurts, play-’til-it’s-dark, over-the-top parks and playgrounds you and your kids will love. When you live here, you can look forward to these fun spaces and more:
Pavilion Park: Calling all tots! Play the day away on this traditional tot lot. Your older siblings can come, too: there’s also a half-park basketball court to shoot hoops on.
Beacon Park: Every day is a new adventure in this action-packed park. Climb into a treehouse. Navigate a ninja course. Challenge someone to a game of giant chess. Play a game of basketball. Or swim to your heart’s content.
Cadence Park: Are you a bit on the competitive side? Then Cadence Park may be your new favorite hangout. Challenge your friends and neighbors to a friendly game of shuffleboard, bocce or tetherball. Win or lose, you’re bound to have a good time.
Parasol Park: You’ve never seen a whimsical, wonderful park like this. That’s because these delightful wooden structures were handcrafted by German farmers. Did we mention there’s a zip line. Lass uns spielen! (That means let’s play.)
Rise Park: Not one, but two eight-foot yellow Warbler birds to climb on? Now that’s how you have some big fun.
Solis Park: Outdoor ping pong and foosball at The Retreat. Need we say more?
The Great Park: Of course, if you really wanna play you’ll need to swing by Great Park itself. First stop, the carousel: an Orange County tradition that recently got an upgrade. Take a ride and enjoy the fresh paint and new artwork on this familiar favorite. While you’re there, check out the brand new play areas near the Sports Complex and Kids Rock — a fun way to learn about conservation ecology.
